In just over 6 months Custom Racing 67 has become the largest independent racing team in Gauteng. Custom Racing 67 is Johannesburg based and fast gaining in reputation as one of the up and coming teams in kart racing. Custom Racing 67 is proud to have secured 11 team members within our first 6 months. Our goal is to have 20 team members for the 2014 Kart season.
As an independent kart team the Custom Racing 67 team is made up of drivers who compete with the various chassis’ that are available in South Africa from the different importers. Our current team members compete in Zanardi, Top Kart, PCR, Monza, Formula K and Birel chassis in the Mini Rok, X30 Challenge and GP 125 cc Shifter Classes.
Custom Racing 67 welcomes any other chassis brands such as CRG, Tony Kart and the Haase into our racing stable and will gladly extend our participation into the Junior and Senior Rok classes as well as the Rotax classes – Maxterino, Junior Max, Senior Max and the DD2 classes.
Custom Racing 67 along with their sponsors, Shield Car Care, Mag Wheel Repair Centre, GWR Gear Rebuilding Centre and Titan Tool Products, is committed to promoting karting in the Northern Regions as a family sport an outing where children as competitors are outdoors most weekends leading to a motor racing lifestyle.
Our team is focused on all aspects of Karting, participating an a disciplined environment, team spirit, competitive focus, cultivating a winning mentality with an honest and respectful approach to other competitors. The requirements of the parents is an important facet as both parents are generally apprehensive, especially the mom’s, as this is perceived as a dangerous sport (not really – due to the immense discipline) with the father generally being the instigator of the child joining the karting fraternity.

What does the future hold, we are not sure, but our aim as Custom Racing 67 is to continue investing in our team by offering exceptional service maintaining our presence in the market place introducing new and existing drivers from different backgrounds to kart racing as a sport.
Custom Racing 67 will continue to develop all of drivers to achieve the best that they possibly can do locally. It is important for us as a racing team to keep people interested in Karting and importantly to have FUN! It is our aim to keep these kids dedicated to this magnificent sport, where there is and enjoyment factor for the competitor, parent and spectator.
