Garry Rogers & Jaco Du Plessis


Custom Racing 67 Staff:

Garry Rogers:

Garry Rogers is the Custom Racing 67 team principal, having raced in the GP 125 cc Shifter Class for many years . His passion for the sport is unchallenged as he continues to make inroads into the sport. Garry was the ex-chairman of the Northern Regions Kart Club, the largest karting club in Gauteng. He served on the MSA Northern Regions Committee and on the MSA Karting Commission for two years.

Connor Rogers:  

Connor has been kart racing for the last 10 years, starting in the GP Junior class progressing through the ranks, Mini Max, Junior Max, Junior ROK, Super ROK and presently racing in the X30 Challenge where he finished second in the championship to the accomplished kart and long circuit competitor, Tasmin Pepper.

The X30 Challenge has proved to be the most popular class to compete and watch as the all of the leading kart racers are currently competing in the class or have tested their skills in this shifter class.

Wian Nortje:

Wian joined Custom Racing as a technical consultant adding to the wealth of knowledge in kart set up and technical knowledge, whilst working for the triple world champion and multiple South African karting champion – Wesleigh Orr.

Wian heads up the technical and mechanical teams and assistants ensuring that Custom Racing is continuously supporting our team members from kart set up on the mechanical support required.

Lovemore Moyo:

Lovemore has been working with Garry and Connor as a mechanical assistant for the last three and a half years. Lovemore heads up all of the mechanical assistants (4) ensuring that the work required on the karts during race days and practice days is done efficiently and to the highest quality. Working closely with Garry and Connor, Lovemore knows the importance of the quality of his and the other mechanical team’s work as safety is our first priority at Custom Racing.

Elruco Du Plessis:

Elruco is still at school and has been racing karts for just over 2 years. He competes in the toughest class in Gauteng – the X30 Challenge. Elruco assists at the Custom Racing 67 workshop on Friday afternoons and on race days although he competes on the day himself. Elruco also races in the F400 series (4 Stroke Endurance Racing) with a team that are often in the top 5 as finishers. Elruco is a kart fanatic!!

Wilson& Gift:

Wilson, Gift and Commando are mechanical assistants working under the supervision of Lovemore and Wian. Wilson and Gift are employed at Custom Racing 67’s sister company, Mag Wheel Repair Services, where they are learning to become Mag Wheel machinists. They have both shown an interest for kart racing mechanical side and have been taken on as assistants to assist the Custom Racing 67 team management and members on race and practice days.
